A Fully Adoptable Protocol.

Our vision was always to make Carbono Biodiverso fully adoptable by NGOs and to support organizations interested in replicating this process.

“We don’t want people to have to go through the same learning curve. We say these are the basics, this is what we’ve learnt about finance mechanisms on a state level, and these are the tools for you to adapt them to where you are.”

Laura Pérez – Arce GESG

Is the protocol suitable for us ?

The protocol has been designed and developed for implementation by various organizations; however, it may not be suitable for all NGOs. It is crucial to first conduct a thorough review of the local protocol to fully understand its requirements. Once you have verified that your project aligns with these criteria, you may proceed with implementation.

Registering On The Carbono Biodiversity Registry

For an NGO project to be registered on the Carbono Biodiverso Registry, it must demonstrate full compliance with all applicable protocol requirements. NGOs are required to prepare a comprehensive project document that clearly evidences their adherence to these standards. Following submission, the project undergoes a thorough review process, including an external technical assessment. This evaluation involves examining the project documentation to confirm compliance with local protocol requirements and conducting a site visit to verify implementation in practice. Once all steps in the review process are successfully completed and documented, the NGO’s project qualifies for registration in the Carbono Biodiverso Registry, where biodiversity reduction credits will be issued.

Frequently Ask Question:

Carbono Biodiverso Workshops, organized by Grupo Ecológico Sierra Gorda, support and facilitate the adoption of the protocol by organizations seeking to implement it. A series of workshops, designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the key aspects of the protocol, cover the following topics:

  • Review and validation of proposed areas in accordance with the local protocol.
  • Methodologies for estimating carbon sequestration.
  • Integration of landowner files and required documentation.
  • Guidance on preparing the project description.
  • Facilitating eligibility for local government funding.

In addition to the workshops, Grupo Ecológico Sierra Gorda provide ongoing support throughout the process, allowing organizations to ask questions and receive tailored advice.

These services are offered at a competitive cost, significantly lower than those associated with international protocols.
